Evansville Fire Department K-9 Unit Fire Dog

In light of the recent fires in our city, the addition of a K-9 would significantly aid fire investigators. The Evansville Fire Department has partnered with Pet Food Center to provide Evansville with a new K-9 trained in ignitable liquid detection. These working dogs are specifically trained to detect minute traces of ignitable liquids, such as gasoline and lighter fluid, that may have been used to start a fire. A K-9 can help investigators determine how a fire originated and prevent future incidents. The Fire Department has not had a working dog on the investigation unit for several years. Let's come together to create an outstanding K-9 Investigator team for the Tri-State area that will make our city proud and strong.
